HELP,IRS REFERENCE #1301,HOW MUCH LONGER WILL THE WAIT BE?
Q. Its been about 23 weeks since i filed has anyone ever had the reference number and how was the wait before you received your refund?

A. If you truly are past 23 weeks (meaning you filed 1/22), give the IRS a call and ask. You can have a referral done. Even with the FTHBC you should be done by now unless your return went to exams.

Is anyone now getting...Please mention reference number 1301 to the IRS Customer Service Representative.?
Q. We have received your tax return and it is being processed. For more information, please continue. If you have questions or need additional information, please have the following on hand when you call: A copy of this page. A copy of your tax return. The Social Security Number, Filing Status, and refund amount claimed on your return. Tell the representative that it has been more than 6 weeks since you filed your return. Please mention reference number 1301 to the IRS Customer Service Representative. I have no idea what this means! So I did alot of searching...and that code means just that it is delayed and your return was filed more then 3 weeks ago. I wish I knew when I was getting my money though!

A. DANG! Well, glad to hear it's not just me and I don't have to get the handcuffs ready. I called the IRS office, waited on hold for 15 minutes, only to have the agent tell me they don't know why my return is stuck. Originally filed turbotax efile and was told to expect the refund on 02/06. Then checked IRS website when this didn't come, and it said to expect return 02/10. Now it tells me to call the IRS office with this code ...but the agent is no help. She told me that they have up to 4 weeks to clarify this ... and their time doesn't start to count until they have put this into a hold position ... not the time that I sent this in 3 weeks ago.

Anyone who got a reference number 1301 when checking on their tax return on the IRS website?
Q. Did you ever receive your refund after receiving the reference 1301 code?

A. I e filed 1/19, accepted 1/20, should have gotten refund 1/30 (2/3 at the latest) then on 2/4 got the refer code 1301 on the WMR site and it has been like that every since. It is now 2/25 and I have lost hope of getting my refund anytime soon. I was told to wait the full 6 wks (which means until 3/2/09) and if I haven't received either a refund or a ltr then to contact them. Good luck with yours.

Irs tax refund reference code 1301??? delayed!!!?
Q. Hi, Does anyone know what the reference code 1301 means? I have been checking the IRS website and it was telling me that my return was being processed and I should receieve it my refund by 2/20. Well today is 2/21, and still no refund! So anyway, I cheked my status again this morning and it finally changed but it changed to "Your return is still be processed..." with a reference code of 1301. I called the IRS and they said that they aren't showing any errors, and that they couldn't give me a specific date I would receive it. She just said that I should have it within 6 weeks!! : ( Anyone else know what is going on or what code 1301 means? No, I didn't file the EIC. I had a basic return with no credits or adjusments, plus H&R BLOCK online… [cont.]

A. On of my friends had the same situation, the reason they are rechecking some tax returns is because of the Telephone Excise tax Credit that they are issuing. Even if you are claiming the standard credit they are still checking it. My friend was supposed to get her refund by the 28th of January and she finally got it this past Friday 2/16/07, they had no reason of holding it. And they gave no explanation either.

A. Ours too the exact situation, our D.D. was suppost to be the 13th, then it went to the 17th, then we got the 1301 code which the irs rep told me just means a small error, usually having to due with the stimulas check last year, anyway now my refund is in the processing mode again and it's being said that I will receive it on 3-3-09. The irs did say that unless it's a big error, the will automatically fix it and send your refund through... Good Luck to you, I've waited so long now that i'm not holding my breath, already been disapointed for weeks now as it is...

Is anyone still getting reference code 1301 when checking WMR site?
Q. My refund was scheduled from 2/3 to stll processing with 1301 reference # and call the IRS but I can't even get through to anyone. Its not even giving a possible refund date anymore. Does anyone know whats up with that?
Asked by j-nice - Thu Feb 5 08:49:36 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The reason you cannot get through to the IRS is because many others like yourself are wanting their refund yesterday or earlier. The present economic situation has caused many people to file earlier than usual which is delaying the processing times normally expected at this time of year. Patience, my friend, patience.

Anyone w/reference code 1301 called IRS as of 2/10)?
Q. and been told that status shows supervisor suspend but CSR doesn't know what that could mean and told me to call back next week. FYI efiled 1/19 accepted 1/20. the WMR site just says still processing reference code 1301 which I know is basically a generic code ( I am not asking wht the 1301 code means) The IRS rep today (2-10) told me that my return is "in supervisor suspend" but she was not sure what that mean. This is what I am asking (does anyone know what supervisor suspend means)

A. I am also getting this reference code. Initially, the IRS website told me I was going to receive by tax refund "by February 3rd". It never updated from there to give me a specific direct deposit date or anything like is usually does. I have been filing my taxes the same way for four years now through H&R Block's website, and this is the first time I have had ANY problems. On February 3rd is when it switched over to telling me that they have received my return and they're processing it and to call for more information (with that reference code 1301, which is useless). I called them on 2/4, and she didn't really know what was going on. She gave me like 3 different answers and ended up telling me that I should receive my refund within a… [cont.]

IRS Refund, ref 1301?
Q. I e-filed on 2/9 and the schedule said DD by 2/20/09. As of yesterday, the WMR website said I should have my deposit by 2/24. As of this morning, it now says there is a reference 1301. I called the IRS and they first said it was pulled for review, then the next lady said it was being checked for errors. I used TurboTax. I didn't receive a stimulus check last year due to my name and SS# not matching, but that has since been fixed. Anyone got any ideas on when I can expect my money?

A. Alot of us are in the same boat - its pretty a hit and miss situation with the DD and the 1301 code - I have posted on here about this issue and find it very strange to see it happening so much even though they say its an error ( and yes one rep said could be on their end) - then another says due to be deposited on the 13th of February or the 20th - which did not happen - Throws hands up and says will check next week - what can you do??? Tis very sad state of affairs and not alot of reasoning behind the delays except the stimulus payments from last year

A. I filed my return 1/15 & was accepted 1/19 with a DD date of 1/30. That day came and went with no money deposited. The next week I had the 1301 message. I called and was told that there was a mistake of some sort and they would mail me a letter. No letter arrived so I called again. This time I was told it might or might not be a computer problem. She couldn't give me any further info. I called again a few days later to see what was going on. Again...no one knew what was going on. Yesterday I had a new code so I called again. This time I talked to a woman who was very helpful. Q. Does anyone know what reference 1301 means? I checked my status on "where's my refund" and it was saying that I should receive my refund on 1/29. A. Almost identical to your situation. This week I called (800.829.1582-EXT 462) twice - reached live people within 5 minutes. Courteous both times. Basically, same story both times: "Your (my) return had to be re sequenced and put back in line. Millions need to be reentered." I asked about the code...they stated the code / ref 1301 is 'reserved' for delays that are not described elsewhere in hand book. Both confirmed no errors on return and no review...rather and slow down on their end and they are working 24/7 to catch up. Second fellow stated: "Keep in mind, you filed early and now many millions of tax returns are streaming in and it is a challenge to catch up." My return was accepted 1/13/08 ...was set for 1/29 deposit. … [cont.]

UPDATE! UPDATE! IRS Refund delay, Reference 1121?
Q. After countless hours online alot of research I hope this information will help some of the 1/26 filers who are still waiting for their refunds. Those of us with the 1121 code "Delay in Processing" were infact kicked out of the system because of a "glitch". The were all resequenced for review. Each return is being re-entered in to computer system and waiting in "que" to be reviewed. Initially the delay code is 1121. Most returns have recently went to a 8002 delay code. (You get this 8002 code when you input your information on the website and it says "You must have made a mistake", enter the date you filed and how, then you will get the 8002 code. When the return is in that code it is actually being reviewed. It will then go to… [cont.]

A. Code Means 1301 that you filled your return at before least three weeks and then after it processing has been delayed due to many reasons. It big question why processing might be delayed, but a particularly for the current year this involves the new 2008 Recovery Rebate Credit.

A. Yes, I had my refund delayed because I didn't fill out form M (making work pay) form correctly. Actually, it wasn't my error, it was TaxAct's because they didn't put zeros on a couple of lines that needed them. I found out when your return goes to error resolution, it can delay your refund for up to three weeks. In my case, it took two weeks. And I didn't find out the problem from the IRS because they can't give you that information because they don't have access to it and they won't let you talk to the error department. All they can tell you is whether or not there was an error. I found out the problem by one of the tax pros on Yahoo answers and sure enough, when I looked at my tax forms, that was the problem.

Q. My returns were accepted 1/22. I then had DD by date of 2/3 and of course delayed then delayed to still processing. Where's my refund was updated to still processing with reference number 1301 2/3, but IRS shows no reason and feels it is processing delay. Dept ED show loan is in default but not in process of offset. There is no mention of letter or freeze or offset...but my status hasn't been updated since the 1301 code I have since found out the student loan was only updated 12/30/2008 and the actual offset may not go through. Something about a 65 day period. The IRS is the one who told me it seems to be a processing delay. If I do get the refund I do polan on catching payments up, but judt don't want whole refund to go to them. too… [cont.]

A. The delay in the processing of your refund will not show the reason why. This is an automated system and if there is a discrepancy with your return the computer spits it out and a human takes over. What the discrepancy is will not post.
