Tax Refund Delay due to delayed processing?
Q. I filed on 1/14 and my return was accepted. Up until yesterday I had a refund date of Feb 2. Now when i checked back last night it said there is a delay in processing and my refund won't be released till around 2/23. I was just wondering if anyone else recieved this message and if so did they contact IRS and find out whats going on.

A. Happens to lots of folks. There are literally thousands of reasons that the processing of your return could be delayed and without looking at a copy of the return as filed it would be impossible to speculate as to what it might be. If the IRS has any questions they will be in touch by mail in a few weeks and will tell you what they need to get your return back into the processing queue. Calling the IRS to see what the status is would be a waste of time until they have had it for at least 30 to 45 days.

A. You may want to go here: or look up the individual code on the web including the name of the tax software you used. Knowing the IRS though, they more than likely won't have a clue as to what the error means.

did anyone recieve a delay in processing stimulus due to amendment of taxes?
Q. won't send stimulus till finished processing amendment papers? why is this?
Asked by tiffanyallen71 - Sat Jun 14 16:28:47 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. When the IRS logs in the amended return, it flags your account. The flag doesn't indicate whether you were expecting a further refund or owed money. Therefore, in case you *do* owe money, no other refunds are released until the amended return has completed processing.

Q. My husband and I owed 59 dollars and forgot to pay it

A. Depends on the reference code given they say up to 3 weeks from when it was accepted but from what I have read it is a week later if all that is. It might still post in time as well, it is just a waiting game when you owe back taxes I am sure it is frustrating!

"There is a delay in processing your Stimulus payment" What does this mean?
Q. I received the letter indicating my payment will be mailed no later than 6/27. I just checked online to confirmed the mailing date and now I get the message noted above. Can anyone help me understand what is going on?. BTW, I did mail an amended return and the CSR stated I would receive my additional refund by 7/26. She never mentioned that it would affect me receiving my stimulus payment. Help!? Like most, I could really use the $$ right now...

A. An amended return will delay your rebate, so that's most likely the reason. I wouldn't neccessarily count on receiving the refund from the amended return by 7/26, though. There's a backlog on these and they can't guarantee a processing time right now.

Delay in processing question?
Q. Since my WMR date has changed 4 times and I'm about to cry :> I just wondered if anyone who received a refund last year had a delay in processing and the refund date had been changed if they did receive it by the date stated on WMR or WHEN they did or IF they did? According to the research I've done, a lot of people received the message I did last year (similar with the dates different of course) which was "The IRS has received your return and it is being processed. Due to processing delays your refund date has been changed. You should receive your refund by Feb 23,2010. Thank you for your patience." but no one ever updated as to when they did end up receiving it. P.S They shouldn't be thanking me I have none.

I thought I did due to an ammendment from 2007. He checked and found that I actually owed nothing. He said the delay could take 3 weeks and to call back on the 17th. I asked could he code my account that I owed nothing so my refund could get DD, he said "no". He said that it (the system) has to go through it's "checks" and it could take 3 weeks. I personally dont believe that. I believe it was going through it's "checks" when the date kept changing, so I have faith that it will be deposited tomorrow. He did confirm that they only DD on Fridays so… [cont.]

A. The wheels of the government turn VERY slowly. You will eventually hear from them. You may not get a refund IF what he owes in Child Support and back taxes equal to more than your refund. They are delaying it because they have to figure out how much your hubby owes. They will take out back Child Support too. This happened to me with my ex, he owed back taxes, they took the whole refund and he still owed another $200 - $300. I know it's frustrating to wait, but there isn't a set time frame as to when you will here from them

A. OMG - you want the *government* to HURRY ?!?! (*laughing*) ... tax refunds will arrive at their own pace - sometimes there will be delays. It's the government, after all. Don't worry ... you'll get your money (eventually) (I did a direct deposit, filing through H&R Block, and got my refund in less than 10-days.)

A. Did they provide any reference code? If so, my experience with that situation has been nothing but bad and the IRS tends to give you the run-a-round. When I checked my status a few days ago, it stated that I should receive my refund by February 3rd. However, it now says that there was a delay and I should receive it by February 24th. This is supposedly from a glitch and the refunds are still scheduled for their original DD date.

He can not read over a level 7 and the year for 1st grade is nearly over. I wondered why the school was not really seeing the red flags, His teacher simply wanted him tested for a LD however the board refused b/c he was already on the IEP to help him. Umm NO LUCK with that! So as my sons advocate I started to research and then paid about 800 bucks at our local childrens hospital to have him tested for it. During that test she observed him and said that the ADD test is also very warrented. So within 3 weeks we learned he had both! Will making small water changes delay the cycling process?
Q. I have been changing 10% of the water in my 10 gallon tank ever 2 or 3 days. It is cycling with 3 zebra danios. Is this delaying the cycling process? Ideally what should ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels be after 2 weeks of cycling?
Asked by Lisa - Fri Aug 21 18:37:41 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Possibly, because you are removing some of the ammonia from the water. But thats not a bad thing, by keeping the ammonia level low, the cycle may take longer to establish, but your fish will survive it. Try and keep the ammonia under 0.5. Nitrite under 1. When the nitrate level starts to rise and the ammonia and nitrite fall to zero, then you have a working cycle. That might happen in 2 weeks, might take 4. Ian

Q. I have been changing 10% of the water in my 10 gallon tank ever 2 or 3 days. It is cycling with 3 zebra danios. Is this delaying the cycling process? Ideally what should ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels be after 2 weeks of cycling?
