Canada ( / ˈ k æ n ə d ə /) is a country occupying most of northern North America, extending from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west and northward into the Arctic Ocean. It is the world's second largest country by total area. Canada's common border with the United States to the south and northwest is the longest in the world. The land occupied by Canada was inhabited for millennia by various groups of Aboriginal peoples. Beginning in the late 15th century, British and French expeditions explored, and later settled, along the Atlantic coast. France ceded nearly all of its colonies in North America in 1763 after the Seven Years' War. In 1867, with the union of three British North American colonies through Confederation, Canada was formed as a federal dominion of four provinces. This began an accretion of provinces and territories and a process of increasing autonomy from the United Kingdom. This widening autonomy was highlighted by the Statute of Westminster of 1931 and culminated in the Canada Act of 1982, which severed the vestiges of legal dependence on the British parliament. A federation consisting of ten provinces and three territories, Canada is governed as a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. It is a bilingual nation with both English and French as official languages at the federal level. One of the world's highly developed countries, Canada has a diversified economy that is reliant upon its abundant natural resources and upon trade—particularly with the United States, with which Canada has had a long and complex relationship. It is a member of the G8, G-20, NATO, OECD, WTO, Commonwealth, Francophonie, OAS, APEC, and UN. From Wikipedia under the

Q. Someone with a Canada email address is emailing me in Colorado and someone else in Canada. He is actually physically located in South America at the present time. The other person in Canada is receiving the emails and responding, with a copy to me, before I get the original email. The originals show up in my inbox a long time later. They are in my address book and the emails are not going to spam. Why the delay by Yahoo? Thank you. Asked by Karen - Tue Feb 9 23:40:58 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Does the person getting them first have the same email service as the sender? that may make it go to the internal list first. Also sometimes there are settings for how often your email client checks the yahoo site for new emails. it could be set to every hour or once a day or something odd. Answered by youngstuff - Thu Feb 11 11:58:06 2010 How long do cancer patients in Canada have to wait before starting treatment? Q. Honest question. I've read that if you get cancer in Canada and can't afford to go outside Canada for treatment, you're pretty much dead. What's the average wait time between starting treatment after being diagnosed with cancer in Canada? Asked by Non-Redneck - Tue Apr 7 14:25:27 2009 - - 18 Answers - 0 Comments A. I have had cancer twice - the first time was 20 years ago. The last time was a different type of cancer and that was diagnosed 4 years ago. I waited a month with the first cancer but only because I did not want to go to a different city. The last time, I was diagnosed on Thursday and was operated on two days later on a Saturday. Obviously, I recovered both times, so... Don't believe everything you hear. In fact, if it is coming from the status quo in the States and has anything to do with Universal medicare as practiced in Canada, you might be well advised not to listen to it at all.
