A. several reasons: 1. both of us work there 2. amenities: since the airport pays for noise mitigation, houses close to it tend to have new and good insulation, new windows and central AC - all of it paid for 3. it's cool to see your friend's plane take off ;-)

What are the Health Effects of Airport Pollution?
Q. I live almost a mile away from a medium-sized airport. Airport Name: Teterboro Airport, Teterboro, NJ The planes there are mostly Jets...no Boeings or Airbuses...it is not an International Airport. Just an airport for jets. How will living next to this airport affect my health? Noise is not the problem, I am worrying about pollution. What will be the consequences of this? Will it affect me a lot in the long run? Is it something I need to worry about? Should I move? I appreciate all answers but detailed, helpful answers will assist the most. Thank you again, and I will be choosing a Best Answer. I'd like some more answers, please tell me the sources of this information.

A. A small jet uses about 40 gallons an hour. that means it the equivalent of 20 cars that get 30mpg. thats not much pollution at all, considering that just in the general area of your house there are thousands of cars but only a few jets.

How many US airport would it take to encompass 90% of the air travelers end points and start points?
Q. If you were going to start a business where you had kiosks that 'loaned out' something to air travelers at the airport before they got on a flight, and they returned the something to a kiosk at their endpoint airport, how many US airports would you need a kiosk in so that you could do business with 90% of the people flying. Assume that we only care about travelers going from one US city to another.
Asked by puravidaaustin77 - Tue May 19 23:27:21 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I'd focus on the hub cities, that's where they'll be waiting around for the connecting flights. Travelers don't stick around at end points and are usually cutting it too close at start points so they won't bother even looking at kiosks at those airports.

A. Prevailing winds dictates the direction of runways, yes land has to do with it but tyhe main ocndition is the wind direction, see many airports in North America and Canada have the same runway numbers or close, most major airports have 2 to 4 runways to dela with changing winds and amount of trafic. How long will it be from international airport to domestic airport in Manila?
Q. Im trying to catch a flight from international airport to domestic airport. I will arrive manila at 11:15 and and I was wondering how long would it take me to domestic airport and what is the best way to get there? How much would be the fare for that. Thanks

A. If you're referring to NAIA Terminal 1 to old domestic it's about 5 kms away. Travel time varries since traffic in Manila is horrible. They have airport taxi's or limousine which have a fix price, expect to pay at least 200 pesos for this maybe even more. If you want to get the metered taxis you have to go to the arrivals and grab a taxi there. If you're flying via Philippine Airlines both ways, you don't have to worry coz they are house in the same terminal which is terminal 2. Terminal 1 to terminal 2 is about 4 kms also.

What happens in the airport after you get off a plane?
Q. I have never been on a plane, but my latest novel begins with the main character (16 years old) getting off the plane alone at LaGuardia Airport in New York. What is the actual process between alighting the plane and her parents collecting her from the airport?
Asked by a o { s i l v e r } - Sun Apr 12 13:00:19 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Well since your character is 16, thenshe is considered an adult by the airlines, so she won't need any special assistance from any airline staff. The process is as follows: 1.) Walk from the jet bridge into the terminal area. 2.) Then she would read the signs above for "Baggage Claim" if she has any bags checked. If not, then she would still go to the baggage claim level as that's where passenger pick up is. You could throw a twist in there and make the airline lose her bag and she would have to stop by the baggage claim and file a PAWOB for her missing piece of luggage.

Coolest airport in MA to do a XC flight to?
Q. What do you think is the coolest airport in Massachusetts to do an XC flight to? I need ideas...lol Thanks in advance!
Asked by Mike - Fri Jan 25 16:23:33 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. here are some suggestions: Katama Airpark (on Martha's Vineyard)... grass airstrip with beach parking. Costs $15 to land but well worth it if you pack lunch/dinner and eat it on the beach with someone special. Provincetown on the Cape... 3500' paved with an ILS, tucked away in the dunes of the upper cape. Chatham and Plymouth both have decent restaurants (open in the summer) where you can grab your $100 hamburger. Not in MA but Block Island is a great little trip.. nice 2800' paved runway with a small cafe. Take a tour of the island if you have time. Enjoy!

A. You would need to fly into Hanover, Germany, below are the directions to get to Gottingen from Hanover: Bus number 60 runs between Hanover city centre and the airport every 20 minutes. Taxis are available from outside the terminal building. A train runs to Goettingen train station and takes 40 minutes. From Hanover airport, follow the A7 motorway in the direction of Kassel. Goettingen lies on the A7.

What airport would you recommend for a layover?
Q. Which is an easier airport to negotiate through for a 15 year old first-time airplane traveler? I have the choice of flying through Charlotte/Douglas Airport or Dulles Intl. Airport. Thanks Thanks, OSU. It's really not that hard.
Asked by YungBeast33 - Sat Jul 11 22:10:04 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Luckily, I've been to both. I find Charlotte much easier to navigate, although both are relatively small. Charlotte is slightly smaller however, and the terminals are layed out in an organized pattern. Once, I was delayed returning my rental car, and I was forced to hurry through Charlotte. I made my flight because it was so easy to get through. I do not have a similar story to compare to Dulles, but I was able to make my flight in Charlotte even with that delay. I appreciate a 15 year-old using perfect grammar and everything by the way, there are so many teens on here who type so unorganized making it almost like a code to read.

Can I get through airport security without a driver's license?
Q. My driver's license has my name incorrectly spelled. I'm guessing this would create more problems and that I should probably refrain from showing the license at all in the airport to avoid problems. Would I be able to board a domestic flight (TX to NY) with just my passport? (I don't think my corrected driver's license would come back in time by the day of my flight.) Help!

How much should a taxi from Zante Airport to the resort of Kalamaki cost?
Q. We are going to Kalamaki in Zante in September and will need to make our own way from the airport to the Roseland hotel. How much should we expect it to cost in a taxi hailed at the airport?
