Taxation in Colombia is determined by the Congress of Colombia, the Departments of Colombia Assemblies and the Municipalities of Colombia councils, which determine what kind of taxes can be levied and which rates can be applied.

Colombia inherited from the Spanish Empire a harsh and diffuse policy of taxation, characterized by a tax system with a very high number of different taxes, but that relies basically on customs, due to the relatively low capacity of local production of goods.

Both the national government's budget and the local government's budgets run significant deficits.

What is Obama's political position, in regard to drugs, narco-violence and drug trafficking in Mexico?
Q. Howdy folks!, This is a very important issue for world wide peace, illegal drugs: "Supply & Demand"; What a controversy! Why is that this issue was not debated by our US presidential candidates? Will it be ? Regularization, Legalization, taxation, decriminalization? In the last third debate, McCain seemed so excited and enthusiastic with Colombian imports and trade agreements with Colombia! yeah-of course!, he needs his(white powder) coke! lol "Cocaine" is harvested in Andino-America(Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador), and most of it, is trafficked " via Cuba-Florida." ...So why Terrorism In Mexico? Who's behind the violence and terrorism in Mexico?- Might be some drug traffickers, like communist Raul Castro, \and his friends in Miami,FL! [cont.]

A. "Narco communism"? What a bunch of nonsense. People who traffic in drugs don't care about politics except to the extent that it interferes with or allows their trade to flourish. Cuba is probably the least of our worries with regards to drug trafficking...I'd be surprised if Obama wasn't more concerned about the Middle Eastern sources.

Is this a good argument for the legalization of drugs? Why or why not?
Q. *snip* cambridge, Massachusetts (CNN) -- Over the past two years, drug violence in Mexico has become a fixture of the daily news. Some of this violence pits drug cartels against one another; some involves confrontations between law enforcement and traffickers. Recent estimates suggest thousands have lost their lives in this "war on drugs." The U.S. and Mexican responses to this violence have been predictable: more troops and police, greater border controls and expanded enforcement of every kind. Escalation is the wrong response, however; drug prohibition is the cause of the violence. Prohibition creates violence because it drives the drug market underground. This means buyers and sellers cannot resolve their disputes with lawsuits,… [cont.]

A. Drugs are illegal? Since when, the biggest contributor to heroine addiction is a prescription drug called Oxycontin. Oh, and let's not forget about the drunk women who drove her vehicle into a car loaded with four kids last week killing them all, including my friend daughter. Look it up she was 15, Erica Haudek. Face it you don't need a drug dealer to get high, just a good doctor or a liquor store.
